Open Data

Our commitment to making the anonymized dream corpus available to the research community.

Coming soon — Data collection in progress

Why Open Data

If this is genuinely citizen science, the data belongs to the community. People around the world contribute their dreams to this project freely and anonymously. We believe the research corpus that results from their generosity should be accessible not only to our team but to any scholar, artist, or curious mind who wants to explore it.

Open data is also good science. Making the anonymized corpus available for independent analysis means our findings can be verified, challenged, extended, and built upon by researchers working in traditions and with methods we may not have considered. The dreams people share with us are richer than any single team can exhaust.

What Will Be Released

The open data release will include the full anonymized dream corpus: the text of every dream submitted, together with the optional context metadata (emotional tone, dream timing, AI usage frequency, country, age range, gender, dream language) provided by participants. No identifying information is collected at any stage, so the dataset is anonymous by design rather than by redaction.

The corpus will be released under an appropriate open-access license that permits academic and non-commercial use while requiring attribution to the project.

When

The open data release will happen once the corpus has reached a sufficient size and the initial round of analysis by the research team is complete. We will announce the release on this page, on the project homepage, and through our institutional channels.

In the meantime, researchers interested in early access for specific academic projects are welcome to contact us to discuss collaboration.
